Amazon
Getting Ready To Deliver Packages Using Drones
Drones
have taken to the skies and are becoming
more and more popular every year. The FAA have estimated there will be 7,500 small commercial drones in the skies above the United States by 2018.
Amazon has just released a video revealing
their drone delivery plans – Amazon Prime
Air.
The Federal Aviation Association (FAA)
granted Amazon approval for its drone delivery plans
in the United States in March 2015.
Flight regulations elsewhere such as in the U.K. will make it harder for Amazon Prime Air to roll out.
Amazon Prime Air can fly distances of 24 kilometers (15 miles)
and at an altitude of 122 meters (400 feet).
You'll receive your order within 30 minutes or less, provided you're in the right
area, according to the video. Amazon has
plans for a “family of Amazon drones – different designs
for different environments.”
