NASA’s Eerie Declassification: Apollo Astronauts Heard "Strange Music" On The Dark Side Of The Moon

Out of radio contact with Earth and all alone on the dark side of the moon, the astronauts were not expecting to hear anything.

While practicing the separation and docking of the Moon lander and orbiter, the three astronauts onboard the mission- John Young, Eugence Cernan, and Thomas Stafford heard strange noises, almost like musical sounds. The transcripts of the 1969 mission were released in 1998 and show that all the astronauts were shocked, speaking about the music and even discussing whether or not they should tell others.

At one point, Cernan says: “That music even sounds outer-spacey, doesn’t it? You hear that? That whistling sound?” He then asks: “Should we tell them about it?” while Stafford expresses doubt “We’re going to have to find out about that. Nobody will believe us.”

“That music even sounds outer-spacey, doesn’t it?” one of the astronauts asks. “You hear that? That whistling sound?”

“Boy, that sure is weird music," lunar module pilot Eugene Cernan says in the notes. “We’re going to have to find out about that,” his colleague command module pilot John Young says.

It still isn’t clear where the strange sounds were coming from.
