Facebook's $95 million satellite along with the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket exploded during its test launch after experiencing a malfunction on the launch pad. This was a big upset and set back for Mark Zuckerberg.



The goal is to provide free and basic internet in other parts of the world where internet access is poor. But Facebook still plans on delivering its project despite the explosion of their satellite. It was a setback to Facebook's Internet.org project after the rocket exploded.

The explosion was caught on camera when it happened around 9 a.m. eastern time on at Sept. 3, Saturday. There were no injuries reported during the blast and neighboring areas were not affected.

The flight on was intended to launch the $200 million Amos-6 communications satellite for Israel Aerospace Industries. Both the rocket and the payload were destroyed in the incident, which could have ripple effects across the space industry.
